Terms of Service

Last updated

These terms govern your use of the Commodity Plus platform. By creating an account, or using the platform on behalf of an organisation, you agree to them.

Who you are contracting with

Commodity Plus is a trading name of 247 CARGO EXPORT LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14184905, whose registered office is at 1st Floor North Westgate House, Harlow, Essex, CM20 1YS, United Kingdom.

In these terms, “we”, “us”, and “Commodity Plus” all mean that company, which is the entity you contract with.

Accounts and organisations

Accounts belong to natural people acting for a real organisation. You are responsible for what happens under your sign-in. Roles within an organisation determine what you can do, and an organisation administrator can change or revoke yours.

Verification

Browsing, learning, and building out your profile are open to everyone. Responding to buyer demand and contacting buyers directly require a verified supplier account, which requires among other things at least one valid compliance certificate.

You can complete every verification requirement yourself at no cost. We also sell help doing it — see advisory services below — but paying us is never a route to verification, and buying advisory work does not make approval more likely.

Verification records that we checked stated documents at a point in time. It is not a guarantee, endorsement, or warranty of any counterparty's solvency, honesty, or ability to perform, and it does not replace your own diligence. Verification can lapse — notably when a certificate expires — and can be withdrawn.

Advisory services

We offer a free triage call. It carries no obligation and no payment details are taken. If we then propose paid work — mapping plots, preparing a certification submission — it is quoted and invoiced separately, outside the platform, and is only chargeable once you accept that quote. Nothing you do on the platform incurs a fee automatically.

Your content and third-party data

You keep ownership of what you upload and grant us the licence needed to host it, show it to the counterparties you are dealing with, and publish the parts you have chosen to make public.

Where you enter data about other people — most importantly farmer records — you confirm you have a lawful basis to do so and to share it with us, and you remain the controller of it. You are responsible for responding to requests from those individuals; we will help where we can.

Compliance tooling

The platform tracks regulatory regimes, checks plot geometry against deforestation datasets, and produces due-diligence artefacts. This is decision support built on third-party data, not legal advice or a regulatory determination. Responsibility for compliance with EUDR or any other regime remains yours. Where a check cannot reach a conclusion it reports as unknown rather than as clear.

Acceptable use

  • Do not misrepresent your identity, your organisation, or the origin or quality of any commodity.
  • Do not attempt to reach data outside your organisation, probe access controls, or scrape the platform.
  • Do not use the platform in breach of sanctions, anti-money-laundering, or export-control rules that apply to a transaction.
  • Academy content is for your own learning; redistributing it outside the platform needs our written permission.
  • Do not use contact details obtained here for unrelated marketing.

Trades between users

We provide structured requests, offers, contract tooling, and record keeping. We are not a party to the trades you agree, do not take custody of goods, and do not settle payments between you. Diligence, contracting, delivery, payment, and dispute resolution stay with the counterparties, unless a specific service says otherwise in writing.

Availability

The platform is offered as is, without an uptime commitment at this stage. We may change or withdraw features. Notifications are delivered on a best-effort basis and should not be your only record of anything commercially important — the platform itself remains the record.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, fail verification, or are flagged by sanctions screening, and we may remove content that misrepresents provenance or quality. You can close your account at any time; see the privacy policy for what is retained afterwards and why.

Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or loss arising from a trade between users, from a counterparty's conduct, or from reliance on verification status or compliance output. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law and disputes

These terms, and any dispute between you and us arising out of them or your use of the platform, are governed by the law of England and Wales. Such disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

This clause covers your relationship with us. It does not govern the trades you agree with other users — we are not a party to those, and the law and forum for a commercial dispute between a buyer and a supplier are whatever those parties agree between themselves, or whatever the applicable trade contract specifies.

Where you deal with us as a consumer, or where the law of your own country gives you protections that cannot be contracted out of, nothing here removes them.

Changes

We will give 30 days' notice before any material change to these terms.
